Boats in Looe Harbour, Cornwall

A watercolour study of boats in Looe Harbour.

Looe is a small town and fishing port about 20 miles west of Plymouth and is actually two towns (East Looe and West Looe) divided by the river estuary. East Looe is probably the more popular with tourists but beware of their seagulls here – some of which have become expert at stealing ice-creams!

I was pleasantly surprised by West Looe – it has some good teashops and charity shops to visit next to the river, but also has some charming old buildings just away from this. It is also much easier to access the river here at low tidy and do as I did – to skip between the seaweed and river banks in search of some good shots of the various boats there.
