Sometimes you just feel like a bit of sketching.
Even though Oxford has its fair share of grand or historic buildings, sometimes it is good to have a change, to mix it up a bit – and maybe draw the local KFC. For me this also has the advantage of being close to one of our local itsu’s – that is a chain of eateries specializing in sushi, noodles and rice dishes – very handy for lunch.
So, here is my view, sitting with my back to the Saxon Tower and one of the oldest churches in Oxford – and the view the other way…


Below is my sketch in-situ and then a final scan (so far).
You might note that in my sketchbook this is squeezed in besides the start of another sketch – this I think is the start of the tower at Magdalen College, but they seem coexist fairly happily together. It is also good to fill some of those empty sketchbook spaces.
