Back in May I was visiting our local Artweeks events in Watlington, a small town at the foot of the Ridgeway hills in southern Oxfordshire. While there I decided to also do a small sketch of one of the many characterful local houses – in this case a former pub – Black Horse House- with its thatched roof and cruck timbers.

Here’s a view of the house and my initial sketch in-situ.

A while later, here is my watercolour of that sketch- with some of the houses further along the street added..
