It was a bit late in the summer but I managed to get away for a week’s holiday in Cornwall before the weather turned. Even so, I didn’t get that much time to sketch as the week flew by. I did, however, remember, to take my wellies and made a point of spending a couple of hours in Porthleven harbour sketching.
Those of you who follow my blog may recall I took a similar holiday last year and possibly recognise some of the views of Porthleven in this post. For me, I’d been looking forward to returning to the coast and drawing more of the Cornish harbours. Arriving at Porthleven at low tide on two consecutive days, donning my wellies and taking my folding sketching seat, it was easy enough to stroll down the main slipway and set up in the middle of the inner harbour.

Once set up this was my view:

… and my finished drawing.

There were still a few seagulls around.
