Back to East Hagbourne

Earlier this week I managed an afternoon’s sketching back in the village of East Hagbourne. This is somewhere that I’ve sketched several times before as well as it being a nice place to be.

Passing through Didcot, I stopped by the local Aldi supermarket to buy various lunchtime snacks. Then a quick decision – whether to eat in their car-park or drive the mile or so to East Hagbourne? Not the most difficult decision ever – and 10 minutes later I’d found a shady spot on a grassy kerbside to eat in the pleasant surrounding of this south Oxfordshire village. I guess that is just one of the perks of going sketching in the countryside.

Then to the business at hand, drawing three sketches along the villages main street, on a quiet summer’s afternoon.

Here are some of my views…

Later I added some watercolour to one of my sketches, this is how it turned out.

So an enjoyable day out, but it turns out three such sketches takes a while – time for a rest !
