Sketching crows on The Lizard

On a recent holiday we stayed for a few nights on the Lizard, Cornwall, and used that as a base to tour around.

I am usually an early riser and from our B&B had a good view of the hundreds of crows that regularly gathered on the phone lines and cables around the village shortly after dawn. Not wanting to miss this sketching opportunity, I got my cup of tea and pad and did some sketching from the comfort of our room.

My photos don’t really show that many crows as by the time I’d finished sketching they’d largely moved on to pastures new.

Here is my view, my sketch in-situ and the resulting watercolour sketch.
