Stokesey Castle is more properly known as a fortified Manor House. Part of its charm is that it consists of a harmonious mixture of building styles that together with the adjacent church forms a unique and pleasing whole. Here is a view of the Castle from the nearby Churchyard.
Another study of some of the small fishing boats hauled up on the slipway at Sennen Cove in Cornwall. The round building in the background was formerly a winch-house, which was probably originally powered by horses. It is now a rather charming gallery.
Amidst rain showers and cloud the Sun eventually came out when visiting Church Hanborough near Oxford. here is my quick watercolour sketch of the view – a bit rough and ready, but hopefully capturing something of the evening light.
Another of my watercolour studies of the harbour at Polperro, Cornwall. This a view from the northern side of the harbour, just around the corner from a rather nice cafe!
Back from holiday to a cloudy and damp England – so I’m posting one of my watercolour sketches of Alicante Castle – you can almost hear the cicades! Now where is that Pina Colada?
