St Symphorian’s Church in Veryan, Cornwall,

Veryan is in southern Cornwall, to the east of the Fal estuary. For many visitors it is a little off the beaten track- as most stick to the main roads heading west. For those who venture here the area may come as a surprise as the mild climate here makes for a green and verdant landscape. Veryan itself is a pretty village, with a good pub, a newsagents/local shop and an outstanding church.

The churchyard can look like something out of a film set, being old, uneven, rambling but also imbued with a sense of history- and makes quite an imposing setting for the church itself.
