On the corner of Ship Street and Cornmarket, Oxford

Another watercolour of a favorite subject – No.s 26 – 27 on the corner of Ship Street and Cornmarket in Oxford.

This building has seen many changes. Now it houses a Pret and a currency Exchange, but it was originally built around 1386. The building is owned by Jesus College and was at one time The New Inn, standing opposite  the Saxon Tower of St. Michael  and another historic pub – The Plough Inn- just inside the city’s old Northgate.
