The junction of Ship Street and Cornmarket in Oxford is a busy junction near the centre of the city.
Cornmarket is a pedestrianised shopping street but scooter delivery riders can walk their way across this busy shopping street with their bikes without fearing a fine. Over time this has grown to be a busy route for ‘rat-runners’ – with riders often parked up waiting for orders and possibily having a coffee or a bite to eat.
This is a watercolour sketch of scooters and riders parked up in the shadow of adjacent half timbered buildings and with the former Plough Inn on the other side of Cornmarket
