Another study of fishing boats in Polruan Dockyard on the southern coast of Cornwall. The same boats as another of my paintings ‘Polruan Boats’ as posted elsewhere on this blog but a little bit more sketchy and splashy.

I liked Polruan – its on the quieter side of the estuary and sometimes the tramp of tourists over in Fowey (‘Foy’) can tend to overwhelm the place. There is also some great countryside between here and Looe further to the east – that’s if you don’t mind navigating the often narrow and winding country roads out here.
