St. Peter’s Church at Upper Slaughter

After a series of boaty posts here is a view of St. Peter’s Church at Upper Slaughter in the Cotswolds. A slightly different approach for me but I quite like the ‘spiky’ trees and grassy bank on this one.

Upper Slaughter is a picturesque village not too far from Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Beyond the church the village drops down to a ‘chocolate box’ ford across the stream and a pleasant circular walk that takes in most of the village. There is at least one hotel but like many smaller villages, no pub or even a village shop, so tourists and locals alike need to travel to nearby towns and villages for refreshments or even the weekly shopping – leaving Upper Slaughter as an ‘half-hour visit’ tourist destination.
