A watercolour sketch of Woodstock church – and a bit of a rant about too many parked cars…

This is perhaps one of my not so brilliant sketches – its a view of the Church in Woodstock – The church of St Mary Magdalene.

This is from a sketch from photos taken in passing. The usual problem with taking photos for artwork is usually the amount of ‘car-clutter’ i.e. there are usually just too many cars parked up. You can get around this when drawing but there is still the problem of drawing what is behind parked cars, vans etc.

For comparison here is one of my earlier watercolours of St. Martin’s Church at nearby Bladon. This is a much more detailed representation of a church that is perhaps better known as the resting place of Sir Winston Churchill.
