This is one of my older studies – it is of a house on terraces near our B&B when we stayed just outside of Amalfi on the southwest coast of Italy.

We stayed at a charming Bed and Breakfast at – I think – the Villa Cilla, about a mile outside of Amalfi and have memories of walking some of those many hillside terrace steps into and out of town. The locals must just develop super strong leg muscles!

The painting is of a house just down from the villa and is from a sketch, possibly done during a rest after an epic walk!
