The Red Lion pub at Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Oxfordshire

I have been looking through some of my sketchbooks from the summer and am now getting around to doing some watercolours from some of these sketches. This is a study of a country pub in the village of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, near Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Below is my sketchbook drawing and above my finished watercolour. You might notice the Red Kite in the picture. This one made an appearance while I was sketching – swooping low over gardens in the village.
