Stokesey Castle is more properly known as a fortified Manor House. Part of its charm is that it consists of a harmonious mixture of building styles that together with the adjacent church forms a unique and pleasing whole. Here is a view of the Castle from the nearby Churchyard.
Walking along the river in London – and through a busy and bustling Borough Market in Southwark. Here’s my watercolour view of the market – with the Shard towering above the market and surrounding area in the background.
Another of my watercolours – this a coloured version of an earlier pencil sketch. The location is M.J. Castle’s butcher’s shop in Northleach in the east of Gloucestershire.
Another study of some of the small fishing boats hauled up on the slipway at Sennen Cove in Cornwall. The round building in the background was formerly a winch-house, which was probably originally powered by horses. It is now a rather charming gallery.
One of my watercolours of one of Stratford characterful pubs – this a view on the front of the Garrick Inn. Signs on the front of the pub declare that it is a 14th century building and has served real ale since 1594.
