Walking past St. Lawrence’s, Winchester

One of my more detailed watercolours – this a view of the passageway leading to the ‘Butter’ Cross which passes the small Church of St. Lawrence. It’s entrance is here shown by the sign of a fish above. You can probably tell by the clothing that this is a winter scene- the air chilly but with a pale blue sky.

To me this walk always conjures a sense of the City’s past. Now also the haunt of various bistro’s, eateries.

This watercolour is also available as a print in my online shop at Etsy
