One of my watercolour sketches of the quay and boats out along the river at the North Norfolk town of Well-next-the-Sea.
Wells is a pretty place, if a little over-run by tourists in the summer-time. Despite this it is still a charming place with its miniature railway, the ebb and flow of the tides and more crabber’s than ‘you can wave a stick at’.
This is a study of one of the more colourful fishing boats LM8 ‘Blucher’. The large building was once a granary with its loading loft supplying the brewery trade. These are now luxury flats which must have a pretty good view.
