Here is one of my older watercolours – of St. Mary’s Church in the small village of Swinbrook.
Swinbrook is in a small river valley a few miles to the east of Burford. The church itself isn’t that inspiring from the outside, though its setting on raised ground in the village is interesting – and the village is a good place to see a profusion of daffodils in the Spring. What really sets this church aside is the outstanding monuments to the Fettiplace Family inside.
