This week I’ve been working on some drawings of the church in the village of Beckley, a few miles north of Oxford. Yesterday I posted one of the resulting drawings and have since done this rather simple watercolour of the scene. This is a watercolour on cartridge paper so a little different from my usual style and possibly a little crisper. For a watercolourist the danger of painting onto cartridge paper is the dreaded crinkle but, this time at least, I seem to have got away with it.
