Today I’ve been drawing from a photograph – this from a view of Hastings Old Town found on Wikimedia Commons.

With the winter solstice close, the days getting darker and the weather dull and rainy, it is sometimes nice to gain a little inspiration from the web.

Personally I find the elements of narrow streets, half-timbered buildings and the old church in this view enticing. Hopefully there is room for some development of this drawing and maybe some painting as well.

Also if and when the covid pandemic subsides then maybe we can travel again – and I think that Hastings will be up there on a list of places to visit!
