Those of you that had a look at my recent posts will have seen my drawing (above) and subsequent watercolour of the row of houses on the Esplanade in Mortehoe on the north Devon coast. The watercolour of this drawing is really just a first attempt, and in this case I decided to try a little digital colouring in, just to find out what that looked like and maybe inform my subsequent colour choices. The surprising thing about producing an illustration or picture this way is that it actually takes a bit of effort and more time than you would think. Maybe if I had the latest supersized touch screen table (and the software to go with it) this might be easier but I don’t. Still, it is interesting to experiment occasionally.
