Hendon Air Museum is one place I hope to return to this year when I feel confident that the ravages of Covid have sufficiently abated. In the meantime I’ve been doing some sketching and drawing from photographs taken years ago on previous visits to the museum. The drawing above is of a Bristol reconnaissance aircraft from WW1 -sometimes also known by their crews as a ‘Brisfit’.
Here is the photo this is based on and another of my sketchbook…

If you look through my previous posts you’ll find various other line drawings and the occasional watercolour of historic aircraft – as well as the occasional motorcycle. This is a trend that I will probably continue, partly because its good practice and just, like most artists, to try and get better with that practice.

This looks really good! Well done.

Thanks Kim
I look forwards to actually drawing at Hendon in person (as well as taking hundreds of photos)- it could be a long day!
Keep well Bryan
