On a cloudy day that threatened rain, I ventured into Oxford to see how the world is getting along. With Covid loosening its grip the city is becoming busy again, noticeably so over the past couple of weeks. Perhaps people just want to get out, spend money and get on with their lives?
I took the opportunity to settle down and draw the HSBC bank building next to the church tower at Carfax, which by most accounts is reckoned to be the centre of the city.

This particular building reminds me of the architecture of Charles Rennie Mackintosh – with similar architectural flourishes and seems very much of that era.
