Last week I was in southern Oxfordshire and straying into Buckinghamshire to visit the village of Turville during the south Oxfordshire Artweeks. For me having the Artweeks events on was an extra bonus as there is some very nice countryside around this area. There are a few pubs too and after visiting Turville and doing some sketching there I moved on back to the hamlet of Christmas Common to visit another nice pub – The Fox & Hounds. This can get pretty busy and is popular with cyclists so a table or seat can be hard to find amongst the lycra and parked bikes. This time it wasn’t too bad – but I had other ideas anyway and decided to do a sketch of the pub from its carpark.
Here is a view of the pub plus sketch.

And my finished sketch.

Maybe I’ll go back and add some watercolour later. In the mean time here are a few of my previous Oxfordshire pub sketches.
