Dorchester on Thames is a historic place, full of old buildings. It is also a place I’ve been to and sketched a few times. So during a brief sunny interlude in an otherwise quite gloomy November, I set up to sketch the buildings around The George Hotel.
With the clocks having changed and the days getting shorter the light tends to go more quickly so I guess i had a bit less than an hour to draw.Here is my view and my on-going sketch in-situ,
That’s about as far as I got but I was quite pleased with the drawing so far. For some comparison with previous sketches, I leave some links to other posts below.
With the light going fast I decided it was time to head back, have a cup of tea and warm up. Below is a scan version of my finished sketch.
