The view from Shipton canal bridge

On another cold day I went out to explore some more of the canal along from Thrupp.

This time I walked along the local footpaths to the church and canal bridge at Shipton on Cherwell. With the temperatures dropping and the smoke from the narrow-boats mingling with a fog drifting over the nearby fields this was again an atmospheric scene. I settled at the bridge to do another drawing and those of you that follow my site might recognise this view from previous posts (links below)

Hopefully all these drawings and sketches will nudge me to do some more painting soon. In the meantime it’s good to get out and enjoy the ultraviolet light of these winter afternoons.
